Joe Burrow has seen the rise in taunting penalties in the NFL of late, and he's not a fan. The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback believes it should be acceptable and even commonplace for players to celebrate and taunt in certain situations in the NFL.
Burrow was on "Pardon My Take," when he shared his thoughts on taunting at a professional level:
“I think if you get paid to play football, you can taunt. I’m all for not taunting in college and high school. But once you get paid to play, you should be able to taunt and no one’s going to get their feelings hurt. We’re all big boys, we’re gonna be okay.

"If you’re in the locker room and you hear the stuff we say to each other in there, it’s a million times worse than pointing to some guy and being like ‘Hey, first down!’”
The Bengals star believes that once players get paid and they are in the NFL, it should be fine to taunt. Every player might not take it the same way, but Burrow believes everyone will be fine with it.
There have been some notable taunting penalties, including a huge one in the AFC Championship Game last season between the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs. Burrow would like to see the flag stay in the referee's pocket in those situations.
Joe Burrow has always been pro-taunting
This is not the first time Joe Burrow has commented on taunting. He's often said he supports taunting in the NFL, including back in April on the New Heights Podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce.
He said:
“Yea, I’m pro-taunting. We’re all grown adults that work really hard at what we do. And sometimes we’d like to show it. I’m not gonna get my feelings hurt if somebody sacks me and taunts me, like, you made a play. I get it. Like good for you.”
Burrow believes it's all part of the game and there shouldn't be any hard feelings about being taunted.
