Joe Burrow starting to "not give a s**t anymore" over pitfalls of sky-high popularity

We will all be seated for what is likely to be Joe Burrow's comeback tour in 2024. After missing the final seven games of the 2023 season with a wrist injury, Burrow will look to make a statement when the Cincinnati Bengals open their schedule at home against the New England Patriots on September 8.

It was a gruelling year for Burrow, between the injury and watching his Bengals stutter to the end of the season. But it appears the NFL's highest-paid quarterback bided his time and dealt with the media attention one way or another.

On the Pardon My Take podcast this week, Burrow discussed his approach with all the attention he has been getting since skyrocketing to popularity with LSU and then with the Bengals.

Burrow outlined his approach saying:

“I am [getting comfortable being famous]. It’s very difficult sometimes but I’m starting to not give a s**t anymore, which I think is good. It’s just a very odd life so I’m starting to be a little more open.
"It became exhausting to keep as many things private as I wanted to. I’m getting better at it."

Joe Burrow's comeback tour set to be front and center in Hard Knocks 2024

On the same podcast, a co-host brought up the fact that a few fans and analysts were stopping short of naming Burrow among the best of the best in the league.

It appears Burrow was paying keen attention to those hot takes, saying:

"That's what happens when you get hurt, though. You don't play football people forget about you. That's part of the game, if you're not out there and people aren't watching you then there's nothing to talk about. So, I'm going to give people to talk about something to talk about this year."

While Burrow is dead-set on making a statement this year, you can be sure that we will all see it happen with a bit more access to the Bengals' facilities, courtesy of HBO's Hard Knocks. For the first time in Hard Knocks history, the show will follow all the AFC North teams so brace yourselves for a whole lot of Joe Burrow this year.
