Joe Mixon charges dropped as Hamilton County Judge signs off on dismissal of arrest warrant

Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon's arrest warrant was dropped on February 3 after a Hamilton County Judge signed off on junking the charges.

Mixon's agent Pete Schaffer earlier expressed confidence that the charges would be dropped "first thing in the morning."

At the time, Schaffer said:

"It was a rush to judgment. They're dropping the charges first thing in the morning.

"I really feel that police have an obligation before they file charges - because of the damage that can be done to the person's reputation - to do their work."

Joe Mixon arrest warrant update

Hamilton County Judge Curt Kissinger approved the dismissal of the arrest warrant early on Friday.

Joe Mixon's arrest warrant was issued on Thursday. The affidavit stated that Mixon pointed a firearm at a woman. According to the same, the Bengals RB allegedly told the woman:

"You should be popped in the face. I should shoot you, the police can (sic) get me."

The incident reportedly occurred the day before the Bengals faced the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs.

At the time, the Bengals released a statement saying:

The club is aware misdemeanor charges have been raised against Joe Mixon. The club is investigating the situation and will not comment further at this time."

Mixon, however, has a history of such incidents.

In 2014, Mixon allegedly punched a woman in the face, severely injuring her. The woman, a 20-year-old at the time, alleged that the running back broke her face in "four places," including her nose and sinuses.

In 2015, Mixon refused to comment on the allegation.
