Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter completed a dream season on Saturday, taking home the Heisman Trophy with a huge advantage over other competitors. It's another award for Deion Sanders' pupil, who also won the Bednarik Award (best defensive player in college football) and the Biletnikoff Award (best wide receiver in college football) during the week.
Hunter, who plays in both offense and defense at a high level, is expected to be a top 5 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He insists that, while in the NFL, he'll continue to play as a wide receiver and a cornerback at the same time, and if he translates his skill set to the pros, the sky is the limit.
A while ago, during a Twitch stream, when asked which team he wanted to play for, he revealed that his favorite NFL team was the San Francisco 49ers. After the Heisman was announced, 49ers fans rushed to Twitter to beg general manager John Lynch to find a way and draft him:

"Hopefully he pulls a Eli and goes to the 49ers", said a fan.
"We should have just lost the Bears game and had a top 10 pick. Travis did say he wanted to choose his team, and didn't care about being the number-one pick", another noted.
"It’s happening: Coach Prime won’t let him go to a bum team", a third fan said.
Travis Hunter has followed Deion Sanders' steps since Jackson State
In one of the most stunning flips of the 21st century, the college football world was shocked to learn that Hunter changed his commitment from Florida State to Jackson State in late 2021. He was the number one overall recruit according to the specialized website 247sports, but still decided to go to the FCS.
When Sanders moved to Colorado, however, he followed Coach Prime, finally joining an FBS college. Even when playing against the best, he continued to dominate, being named a Consensus All-American in 2023.
He's the first player since 1997 to play on both sides of the ball and win the Heisman. Charles Woodson, playing for Michigan, won the award back then. He played as a cornerback, a wide receiver and a returner, but he did not play on offense when he moved to the NFL.
