Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant shared a post criticizing the Cowboys for their struggles. On Monday, the Washington Commanders beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 in the wild card round of the NFC playoffs. With this, the team qualified for the divisional round where it will face the Detroit Lions on Saturday.
Following the Commanders' win, Bryant shared a post on his X lauding the efforts of the team's head coach, Dan Quinn. However, in his post, Bryant was critical of the Cowboys. He wrote:
"Dan Quinn turned a once-struggling franchise into a playoff contender and won his first playoff game…Until Dallas focuses on winning instead of politics..Cowboy fans should not expect success soon…I'm telling you this straightforwardly.., just as I always do…"

Fans jumped into the comment section to share their opinions about the same. Some came forward to criticize the Cowboys' owner, Jerry Jones.
"Absolutely!! The Jones family values money and clicks over winning. It’s sad what my favorite team has become."
Meanwhile, another fan questioned Bryant about the chances of Jones hiring a new GM.
"you know jerry better than us, what are the chances he will ever consider hiring a real GM??"
"It’s not going to change until Jerry passes on, he’s stubborn and stuck in his ways, changing now in his mind is too risky," another fan said.
"Can’t win with Jerry meddling in the business," another fan commented.
Others supported Bryant for his opinion.
"I appreciate that you always speak the facts. Dallas prioritizes the business over the pieces to win. Until Jerry and Stephen change that, the Cowboys will be stuck in purgatory," a fan added.
"My expectations was low this year. So I’ll continue to do that till something changes," a fan said.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has "no" plans to leave GM position
Jerry Jones has no plans to leave the GM position of the Cowboys. In one of his interviews last week, the 82-year-old was asked about his plans to leave the GM position. However, he cleared his stance and said, "No."
"No. Just, no. I bought the team, I think the first thing to come out of my mouth … somebody asked, ‘Did you buy this for your kids?’ I said, ‘Hell no. I bought it for me.’ And I didn’t buy an investment. I bought an occupation, and I bought something I was going to do," Jones said (via FOX News).
He bought the team in 1989, and since then, he has been serving as the owner, president, and general manager of the team. The team has so far won five Super Bowls, with the last coming in 1995.
Meanwhile, in the 2024 NFL season, Dallas wrapped up at 7-10. They played their last match in Week 18 against Washington but lost 23-19.
