On Tuesday afternoon, October 15, the Buffalo Bills took the NFL world by surprise after swinging a trade for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper. The Browns will reportedly receive a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round selection from the Bills, in exchange for Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick.

Not long after news broke that Cooper would join the Bills, fans on social media suggested that quarterback Josh Allen was getting another top offensive weapon.

"Josh allen MVP run continues," one tweeted.

Allen has had a solid start to the 2024 season and is an early contender to win this season's MVP award. The signal-caller has completed 98 of 156 passes for 1,160 yards and thrown 10 touchdowns with no interceptions. Allen has also rushed for three touchdowns across six games, leading Buffalo to a 4-2 record after Week 6.

"Bills mafia got their new WR1!" tweeted another.
"Josh Allen + Amari Cooper is dangerous, just being real." tweeted a user.

Another section of fans also pointed out that Cooper's trade to Buffalo will benefit the team hugely.

"HUGE for the Bills, and the Browns have entered full tank mode. Amari is going to EAT in Buffalo." one tweeted.
"Great trade for the bills." tweeted another.
"Wow, now I like this move. Bills beat the Jets last night and then just made the better trade for a WR." tweeted a fan.

The Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans in the offseason and have struggled to replace him with a WR1. With Cooper, Buffalo adds an elite wideout who can potentially gel expertly with Allen.

Cooper has recorded 250 yards on 24 receptions and caught two touchdowns across six appearances for the Browns this season. The five-time Pro Bowler is now taking his services to Buffalo to work with coach Sean McDermott.

Cooper, a 10-year veteran, has 691 receptions for 9,736 yards and 62 touchdowns across his NFL career.

Amari Cooper was drafted by the then-Oakland Raiders in the first round in 2015. He played just over four seasons with the Raiders before being traded to the Dallas Cowboys in October 2018.

Cooper spent a shade under four seasons with the Cowboys. The wideout was traded to the Cleveland Browns in the 2022 offseason.

After a spell just over two seasons with the Browns, Cooper is now set to join the Buffalo Bills.
