Earlier this year, Josh Allen was crowned as the "biggest trash talker" in the league by his fellow players in an anonymous survey. In the latest episode of the "Pat McAfee Show," the Buffalo Bills QB spoke about how his trash-talking has changed.

One of McAfee's co-hosts asked if he has upped his trash-talking in order to justify the title that his fellow league players bestowed on him. On the contrary, Josh Allen said that he has gone the opposite way.

"I've toned it down quite a bit," Allen said.

He added that he used to rely on it quite heavily early on in his career. But does that mean he's stopped trash-talking entirely?

"It's every once in a while I'll pull something out of the rabbit's hat or the magician's hat, you know," Allen responded.

When Pat brought up his trash-talking with Simmons during the Tennesse Titans game, where he sarcastically told him, "You're so tough!" Josh Allen clarified by saying that they parted on good terms.

He said that after the game, the two walked up to each other and hugged it out. They even wished each other good health and said they were both appreciative of the other.

"So, it's all in good fun. And when we're on the football field, tensions get flared up a little bit. But after the game we're all one fraternity here in the NFL."

Josh Allen owns trash talker title

When the anonymous survey came out, however, Josh Allen did not say that he would be toning down his trash-talking. If anything, he said that he would be owning it and doubling down on it.

"So you’re telling me, I was voted as the #1 … best trash talker??? Let’s goooooo!!!" Josh Allen wrote on X.

And he did to some extent. In their Week 3 outing against their divisional rivals, the Miami Dolphins, the Bills won 31-10. During the game, he ran with the ball for a few yards and then hit the ground.

Dolphins LB David Long Jr. was there and the Bills QB trash-talked him with the classic, "Who are you?” He then looked at Long's name on his jersey as he walked away.

Earlier this year, he had even been voted the "most overrated player" in the NFL in another similar survey. His response was:

"I'm just going to keep playing football the way I know how to play it."

As long as Allen can walk the walk, no one will mind him talking the talk.
