Josh Allen is a prime candidate to win his first MVP award, helping the Buffalo Bills score 525 points – the most in a single season in franchise history, despite completing 307 of 483 attempts for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns. Such efficiency can be attributed to his offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, whom he wants to stay amid interest from the rest of the league.

Asked on Wednesday what has sparked interest in Brady, the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback said:

“Nothing. Teams should stay away from him.”

Josh Allen discusses wild-card matchup vs. Broncos, golfing with their former star QB John Elway

The Bills are set to host the Denver Broncos in the wild-card round, and Josh Allen recognizes their defense as lethal, headlined by Pro Bowlers Nik Bonitto and Patrick Surtain II. But at the same time, he believes he and the offense are up to the task.

"It builds a lot of confidence, to go out there and know that our guys have the ability to run certain plays, concepts and stuff that we've been good at," Allen said in the same news conference (Timestamp: 6:49).
"But, again, I think it comes down to playing our best this Sunday. And nothing that we've done in the past matters. It's all about who executes better and who scores one more point."

Speaking of the Broncos, he also recalled a conversation he had with their former star quarterback John Elway over golf. There, the two-time Super Bowl champion and former Denver general manager claimed to have erred by passing up on Allen in the 2018 draft (although in fairness, he did select linebacker Bradley Chubb, who developed into a very good pass-rusher while with the team).

"Whether it was two shots or two holes on the driving range, I brought it up pretty quickly," Allen said (Timestamp: 0:17). "He's an awesome man, a great player, got a lot of respect for him. ... Hindsight's 20/20. Who knows how it would have worked out? I'm just glad where I'm at."

Kickoff for the Broncos-Bills game is at 1:05 p.m. ET on CBS.
