Indianapolis Colts receiver Josh Downs is dealing with a toe injury which could impact his status for Week 6. As per the team's Wednesday injury report, he didn't practice and his game status was unspecified.

Josh Downs is dealing with a toe injury. According to Nate Atkins of the Indy Star, the injury started to flare up during Sunday's 37-34 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Downs recorded nine receptions for 69 yards in the loss to Jacksonville. He did play through the toe injury near the end of the game as it didn't seem to impact him.

When will Josh Downs return?

Despite not practicing on Wednesday, Downs is still likely to play in Indianapolis' Week 6 game against the Tennessee Titans.

Since Joe Flacco took over as the starting quarterback, Downs has been his top receiver. In the two games with Flacco, Downs has 21 targets, 17 receptions, 151 yards and a touchdown.

Downs did deal with an ankle injury in training camp that caused him to miss the first two games of the season. Despite Downs missing the first two games, Colts coach Shane Steichen liked his team's wide receiver depth.

“I mean, all these guys,” Steichen said, via Readthereporter. “I mean, obviously Anthony Gould has made some big-time plays for us, our draft pick from Oregon State. But all those guys are competing on the backend.
"Alec Pierce has had a really good camp, same with Michael Pittman Jr. AD (Adonai Mitchell) has had a hell of a camp too. So really excited about the full group.”

If Downs can't play on Sunday, it's likely it won't be a long-term injury given he did finish the Jaguars game. But, should he not play, Alec Pierce, AD Mitchell and Anthony Gould should see more targets and snaps.
