“I just gotta knock the f**king ball down” – Justin Jefferson’s showstopping one-handed catch has Bills CB rueing play

Justin Jefferson stole the show on Sunday. Every week in the NFL there are crazy games, but the Minnesota Vikings and the Buffalo Bills matchup was the most memorable from Week 10. A 33-30 overtime win for the Minnesota Vikings improved them to 8-1, while the loss dropped the Bills to 6-3.

The game had everything. A 17-point comeback by the Vikings, good quarterback play from both sides, both defenses stepped up, and each team ran for over 145 yards.

Perhaps the most crucial play of the game came when Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson made one of the greatest catches of all time. He managed to grab the ball against Bills' defensive back, Cal Lewis. On fourth-and-18 with everything on the line. Kirk Cousins hit Jefferson for a 32-yard gain. Jefferson went up, extended his arm and snagged the ball out of Lewis' hands for an insane one-handed catch.

The catch resulted in a first down to keep the drive alive and began a crazy sequence of events leading to overtime. Bills defensive back Cam Lewis spoke to the media afterwards about the catch and wished he had knocked the ball down instead of trying to make a bigger play. Lewis said:

"I honestly thought it was over his head but just gotta be more aware of the situation. 4th-and-22.. knock the ball down bro. I'm not a selfish player, I don't try to be a selfish player, I'm always tryna put the team before me. I just got to knock the f*cking ball down, plain and simple. Gotta know the situation. We knock the fu**ing ball day, we win, you know what I'm saying. So that's all I can say about that."

Justin Jefferson was a big part of the Vikings' overtime victory. He finished the game with 10 catches for a career-high 193 yards and a touchdown. When Jefferson made potentially the catch of the year, the Vikings were down 27-23 and on fourth down. The catch kept the drive alive, but Buffalo then took over. That was before Josh Allen fumbled a snap on his goal-line, which saw Minnesota go 30-27 up.

Down by three with 41 seconds left, Allen marched the Bills down into Vikings territory to set up a 29-yard field goal. The kick forced the game into overtime.

The Vikings got the ball first and scored a field goal on the opening drive. Josh Allen marched the Bills down into Vikings territory but threw a costly pick to Patrick Peterson to seal the victory for Minnesota. It was a statement win for the Vikings and Justin Jefferson made one of the biggest plays of the season. It will forever be linked to Cam Lewis, who will have to learn from this moment and move on.
