Since the Kansas City Chiefs are strong title candidates in 2022-23, they may believe that bringing in one or two more crucial players will help them win the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs are first in the AFC West and second in the entire AFC, behind the Buffalo Bills. Undoubtedly, Patrick Mahomes and his team are a strong unit with a good chance to make a deep postseason run.

Still, their defeat by the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 demonstrated that, at least, one club in the conference is still marginally superior. Here is a list of players the Chiefs have been linked with as they look to bolster their squad.

#1 - Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. is still available and has recently been linked with the Chiefs. OBJ hopes to make a comeback in November after tearing his ACL in Super Bowl 56. According to rumors, OBJ will sign a contract somewhere after the trade deadline.

The Chiefs were reportedly hoping to recruit a wideout and "would welcome one additional outside threat," according to Jeremy Fowler and Matt Bowden of ESPN. However, the organization's lack of cap space indicates that "money is a concern" that might hinder the Chiefs from signing OBJ. Ever since Travis Kelce's deal was restructured, everything has altered.

After suffering a serious injury, OBJ will hope to quickly assume a key position in a team that is vying for the title, just like he did with the Rams last year, and demonstrate his value for a multi-year contract.

JuJu Smith-Schuster would have it even simpler with a dynamic duo like Kelce and OBJ, while Skyy Moore, the team's top route runner, would have more opportunities.

#2 - Cam Akers

A veteran like Akers might give the team a boost in the backfield in the later games of the campaign when the competition is fierce. They might also strengthen their backfield strategy.

Akers won the Super Bowl with the Rams last season. However, he only had 1.6 yards per carry in Super Bowl LVI and averaged 3.48 yards per carry over his career.

#3 - Cameron Jordan

Cameron Jordan has played for the Saints his entire professional career. Unfortunately, a faltering Saints defensive unit has been lost on the 33-year-old veteran. Despite Jordan's 4.5 sacks and 15 pressures in seven games, they still have the second-lowest scoring defense in the NFL this season.

Help in the pass-rush is required for the Chiefs. Jordan's contract status is particularly difficult due to New Orleans' ongoing cap issues.

Jordan has, at least, 12 sacks in five of the last six seasons, making him a reliable asset.

#4 - David Montgomery

There will be a lot of talk this week regarding potential deals involving the Chicago Bears. With a challenging schedule ahead, the team's record stands at 2-4. However, as the deadline draws near, the Bears will likely exchange assets for draft picks.

Earlier in the week, David Montgomery was added to the list of potential trade assets. According to ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler, the Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly searching for assistance on both sides of the ball.

For his NFL career, Montgomery has 3,116 rushing yards for an average of 3.9 rushing yard. He has 23 rushing yards, 131 receptions, 1,037 receiving yards, and 3 receiving touchdowns.

Despite the Chiefs' outstanding offensive performances, their rushing game has never been their strongest trait. However, Montgomery might improve Kansas City, making the team more rounded and scarier with his dual-threat qualities.
