Kareem Hunt and Tony Pollard find themselves in different situations in 2024. On one hand, Hunt is looking to prove himself for a second time with the Chiefs. Meanwhile, Pollard has proven himself with the Cowboys but just needs to back it up while working under his new deal with the Tennessee Titans.
However, this is all beside the point for fantasy managers who simply want to pick the winning running back on their fantasy football team heading into Week 8. Here's a look at both players and a recommendation.
Is Kareem Hunt a good pick in Week 8?

Those who have Kareem Hunt most likely didn't start the year with him on their roster. However, like the Kansas City Chiefs, managers have cashed in on the opportunity to see him back on the gridiron.
Hunt has logged 249 yards and three touchdowns in just three games. By this math alone, Hunt is a great option this week. Of course, it won't last forever with Isiah Pacheco seemingly set to return at some point before the end of the regular season.
That said, Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer predicts Hunt to earn 14.5 points in a productive day.
Is Tony Pollard a good pick in Week 8?

Tony Pollard continues to chug right along behind veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph. However, as a running back on a losing team, the game scripting can potentially take him out of the running any week. This is because teams that trail throw more than teams that are playing with the lead.
However, in this week's showdown at the Detroit Lions, Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer expects a surprisingly productive day. Expect 14.8 points from Pollard. One bonus with Pollard is that, unlike many running backs, Pollard has the ability to catch passes out of the backfield, keeping him involved even in passing situations.
Whom should I start between Kareem Hunt and Tony Pollard in Week 8?

Kareem Hunt and Tony Pollard are expected to produce essentially the same number of points in Week 8. However, there is technically one player better suited to start this week.
According to Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer, Pollard gets the nod by just 0.3 points. Hunt is expected to earn 14.5 points, while Pollard is expected to earn 14.8 points. With both expected to produce at a high level, both might be worthy of strong consideration, with one as an RB2 and the other as a flex.
