Kirk Cousins has enjoyed a relatively smooth start to life in Atlanta. Since making the move to the Falcons in free agency and signing a four-year $180 million deal with $100 million guaranteed, Cousins has breathed new life into a Falcons team that picked up just seven wins all year.

Cousins has led the franchise to a 6-5 record heading into Week 13, where they are top of the NFC South. But it appears that the four-time Pro Bowler is also looking for opportunities to maximize his time off the field.

On the Pardon My Take podcast this week, Kirk Cousins revealed that he's looking to get involved in the glitz and glamor of Hollywood.

“I was trying to get into Happy Gilmore 2, but they were taping in New Jersey during the season, so I couldn’t get there,” Cousins said. [3:11:30]

Earlier this year, Adam Sandler confirmed that he had roped in Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for a cameo role in the movie. On the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Sandler said about Kelce joining the cast for the sequel:

“He’s gonna come by. He’s a very nice guy. You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud, and he’s so funny. We have a nice something for Travis."

Per IMDb, the movie has an estimated budget of $30 million, up from $12 million for the original that aired in 1996.

Kirk Cousins grateful for Netflix's 'Quarterback'

While Kirk Cousins couldn't make it to film Happy Gilmore 2, he was more than happy to feature in Netflix's Quarterback series that filmed him during a grueling 2022 season.

The show featured three quarterbacks - Cousins, Patrick Mahomes and Marcus Mariota. On the Pardon My Take podcast, Cousins added that his wife became somewhat of a local celebrity since the show aired on Netflix.

“My wife was the star of the show besides Patrick Mahomes," Cousins said. "She definitely gets recognized a lot more (in public), which is fun. People getting to know me is what’s really fun about it."

The Falcons quarterback garnered a lot of praise after the show aired, as fans got a different look at his personality off the field.
