Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins warned the Detroit Lions ahead of their matchup against Jayden Daniels. The Lions will return to action tonight after resting in the wild-card round.
Their first challenge in the 2024 NFL playoff will be a team that sent the Baker Mayfield-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers home in a dramatic game.
The job will be harder tonight, as the Lions only lost two games during the regular season. That said, Cousins urged the Lions to be cautious about their next opponent, putting special focus on Jayden Daniels.
"They are standout," Cousins explained to ESPN in the 'Countdown' show. "I do think the Detroit Lions offense, they found a formula that we can still win scoring 30, 40, 50 points if our defense is thin, but there's not much room for error.

"The Detroit Lions' offense, I expect to have a great game. But they're gonna have to have a great game, because if the Lions' defense gets leaky against a potentially generational quarterback, it could be back and forth up and down the field," Cousins said.
He clarified he wasn't ruling out the Lions' defense, but insisted that they needed to bring their A-game to keep Jayden Daniels under control.
The Commanders looked nervous in the first quarter of the Buccaneers duel, but as time passed, they felt more comfortable on the field, even stopping the Bucs in crucial moments.
Even though the Commanders are a relatively young team and their quarterback is playing his first NFL season, they are expected to, at least, make things difficult for the Lions.
Former Kirk Cousins teammate Robert Griffin III outlines what Commanders, Jayden Daniels need to beat Lions
Ahead of his second playoff game, Jayden Daniels has been mentioned by plenty of former players who are trying to figure out what he can do to beat the Detroit Lions.
Robert Griffin III, who also played playoff football as a rookie, said that Washington's running game must be better tonight to help the former LSU playmaker.
"The Washington Commanders have to fine a running game outside of Jayden Daniels if they are going to beat the juggernaut that is the Detroit Lions ... Ekeler and Robinson had 18 carries for 43 yards. 2.3 yards a carry against the Buccaneers last week."
The Commanders are one of the most intriguing teams in the playoffs this year and if they somehow beat the Lions in the divisional round, Daniels would graduate as an NFL star.
