Beyonce will perform at halftime of Lamar Jackson, Ravens' Christmas game at the Texans

Lamar Jackson will be a part of history this Christmas when his Baltimore Ravens visit the Houston Texans in the second of the first two NFL games to stream on Netflix. And he has a mischievous plan outside of the game.

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Beyonce is set to perform at halftime. And when asked whether he was disappointed at not being able to see it, the reigning MVP denied it, saying during media availability on Monday:

"Nah, cause I'm gonna go out there and watch. I'm gonna go out there and watch, man. First time seeing Beyoncé perform, and it's at our game. That's dope... Sorry, Harbaugh. Sorry, fellas."

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have already clinched a playoff spot, as have the Houston Texans, who have won the AFC South. But Baltimore is still fighting for the AFC North crown with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lamar Jackson discusses managing quick turnaround for Christmas game vs. Texans

It is often said that two NFL games in a four-day turnaround is the most brutal stretch in sports, given the physically demanding nature of football.

But for Lamar Jackson, it is compounded by the timing: Christmas, meaning he will be spending what should be a festive time in "ultra-focus" mode - with the Ravens pursuing their second straight AFC North title against the resurgent Pittsburgh Steelers.

Including the season finale against the Cleveland Browns, they will be playing three games in 11 days. In that same presser, he said:

"Just trying to sleep. Anytime I can get some rest, I rest. Just resting my body, just so I can go back out there and compete. That's what it comes down to - just getting your body right, and you should be good."

He continued by comparing his current maintenance to the one that he had as a rookie:

"You start getting a little wear and tear when you're getting older. Not saying I'm having that, because I'm good. But it starts happening, you start being a little fatigued, or you might be sore in a few areas, like, 'I was sore here.' After games, especially a quick turnaround. That's different."

The kickoff for the Ravens-Texans game is at 4:30 PM ET.
