Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has had a rather turbulent 24 hours. After losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-27 on Sunday, a Ravens fan called out the 25-year-old via social media.
The tweet from the fan stated that the team should take the huge amount of money that is for the 25-year-old's contract and use it for other areas of the team. The quarterback responded in an angry way.
The tweet has now been deleted, but as we can see, ESPN writer Jamison Hensley wrote that the quarterback used an anti-gay phrase. Jackson did not. The quarterback blasted Hensley on Twitter for his story.

Lamar Jackson wrote:
"@jamisonhensley This is Defamation of my character, Because not once have I ever mentioned or disrespct anyone's Sexuality, sexual orientation, gender, Religion or Race. Your reaching..."
While we are not exactly sure what the ESPN writer saw in the quarterback's tweet, the 25-year-old made it very clear that there was nothing anti-gay about what he said.
One gets the sense that this will have a lot to play out over the next couple of weeks.
Lamar Jackson and Ravens let Jaguars game slip through their fingers
The Baltimore Ravens had the game in the palm of their hands. Leading 27-20 with time running down in the fourth quarter, it looked like a sure win for the Ravens. But Trevor Lawrence had other ideas.
The Jaguars quarterback heroically led his team on a touchdown drive. But the Jaguars were still a point behind after the score. Head coach Doug Pederson then bravely decided to go for a two-point conversion and they got it.
That left the Ravens with little time to get down the field. Nonetheless, Lamar Jackson managed to get into what they thought was Justin Tucker's field goal range - a 67-yard attempt to win the game. Unfortunately, Tucker left his kick just short and the Jaguars celebrated their fourth win.
Jackson was no doubt angry and upset over the loss, hence the bite back on Twitter on that tweet from one fan.
While emotions were clearly still high after narrowly losing, combined with Hensley's comments, it hasn't been the best 24 hours for Lamar Jackson.
