Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson could break Aaron Rodgers' NFL QBR record on Saturday. The Ravens host the Cleveland Browns as Jackson sits No. 2 behind only Aaron Rodgers in single-season quarterback rating at 121.6, while Rodgers finished 2011 at 122.5.

Jackson needs to have a QB rating of 134.4 or better to break the record. If he does, he will set the record, which he tells reporters he isn't too worried about.

"If I'm in my childhood mindset [with] breaking a record, yes," Jackson said, via the team website. "But I'm trying to win games, so it really [doesn't] matter. If it happens, it happens. If it [doesn't, it] probably will happen sometime down the line."

Baltimore is a 17.5-point favorite to beat Cleveland on Saturday. The Ravens can win the AFC North with a win over the Browns, or a loss by the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. Baltimore controls their own destiny and a win over the Browns will lock them into the No. 3 seed and the AFC North title.

Ravens call for Lamar Jackson to win MVP

Lamar Jackson is in the MVP race alongside Buffalo Bills' QB Josh Allen. It does appear it is Allen's award to lose, but Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum says Jackson should absolutely win the MVP:

"I get to see Jackson every day [and] the things he's able to do, and then carrying it over to the game," Linderbaum told the media. "He's just a special player. He's extremely fun to play with – just the things he's able to do – and think there's no one more deserving of that award than Lamar Jackson."

Jackson has thrown for 3,955 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions while rushing for 852 yards and 4 touchdowns.

“He's my MVP. He'll always be my MVP — I promise you that,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said, via Sportsnet. “Yes, as far as I’m concerned, he’s our MVP, he’s our guy.”

The quarterback, meanwhile, says it would be cool to win a third MVP but his focus is on the Super Bowl.

“If it does happen, it happens. That’d be dope — three times,” Jackson said. “That’s never been my goal though. Even the first or second one, it's never been my goal. I always want to finish with the championship, but I’ve been falling short.”

Jackson won the MVP award in 2019 and 2023, and it will be interesting to see if he can make it three this season.
