NFL fans are in for a treat on Christmas Day, as the league has scheduled two heavyweight bouts for everyone to savor. The festivities will kick off with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium before Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens battle the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium.
These will be only the third and fourth NFL games to be played on a Wednesday in the Super Bowl era.
While fans are ecstatic about having two games to watch on Christmas Day, the players aren't as thrilled. When asked on Monday whether he enjoyed playing on Christmas, Jackson, who'll play on the holiday for the second season running, gave a diplomatic answer but made it clear that he wasn't keen on doing it every year. He said:
“I do want to celebrate at home sometimes with my family. All the time, I don’t want to be playing on Christmas. But, no, it’s great. It's a present for everyone. Lot of eyes on us. And I believe a lot of people will be watching us at the right time. ”

RGIII believes Lamar Jackson can end the MVP race on Christmas Day
While Lamar Jackson isn't too enthusiastic about playing on Christmas Day, Robert Griffin III believes it's the perfect opportunity for him to seal his second straight MVP award win.
Following Josh Allen's underwhelming display against the New England Patriots in the Buffalo Bills' narrow win on Sunday, the analyst claimed the Ravens superstar could cement his bid to win the coveted prize with a stellar display against the Texans on Wednesday.
"The NFL MVP Race will be decided on Netflix on Christmas Day. Lamar Jackson is the front runner and how he plays will determine if he wins it." - RGIII wrote on X.
The MVP race between Allen and Jackson has been too close to call. However, a primetime game in the season's penultimate game week is the perfect platform to sway votes in Jackson's favor. However, it's a double-edged sword, as an underwhelming display could give the Bills superstar the edge.
Regardless of his feelings about having to play on Christmas Day, it's a massive game for the Ravens quarterback's quest to retain the MVP award.
