Former Baltimore Ravens player JK Dobbins has made his thoughts clear on the criticism Lamar Jackson has received after their recent playoff loss. Dobbins said he stayed away from the internet for a while to avoid reading comments that targeted the quarterback.
Jackson has come under fire for once again failing to make it to the Super Bowl, as the Ravens were eliminated from the playoffs in the Divisional Round by the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo topped Baltimore 27-25 last week to move on to the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Already a two-time league MVP, while Jackson has established himself as one of the greatest regular-season quarterbacks of his generation, he has never been able to lead his team to a Super Bowl appearance. After the Ravens' defeat to Buffalo, many fans and media pundits again piled on the criticisms toward Jackson. His former teammate JK Dobbins has come to his defense.
Speaking during an appearance on 'Up & Adams,' the Los Angeles Chargers running back said he had to stay off social media for a week to avoid seeing the angering comments towards Lamar Jackson. He said (via Up & Adams' X handle):

"I knew, like, some of the things that happened in the game, like, the media is gonna, you know, say it's his fault maybe, or people are gonna say he can't win and but he can. He's a legend, like he's amazing, right? So I stay away from that, because I love all those boys on that team still, because they were my guys, man. So I leave that stuff with an eye and see none of it... Like, especially, like, for a week I was off the I was off the internet. I like, I can't be on internet."
Lamar Jackson's post-season with the Ravens
The Lamar Jackson-led Baltimore Ravens have seen postseason action in five different seasons. The furthest Jackson has ever led his squad into the postseason was an AFC Championship appearance against the Chiefs in the 2023 season. The Chiefs defeated the Ravens 17-10 before going on to win the Super Bowl that year.
Jackson bounced back with an MVP-caliber season this year, passing for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and only tossing four interceptions. The dual-threat QB also put up 915 rushing yards for four scores on the ground. The Louisville product joins the likes of Josh Allen in the MVP conversation for the season. However, having won the accolade twice already, Jackson seems far more interested in capturing the Lombardi Trophy, as Dobbins alluded to.
With that being said, Lamar Jackson will have to wait at least another year before getting an opportunity to take Baltimore to the promised land for the first time since they won it in the 2012 season.
