On Sunday, Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens' quest for the Super Bowl ended following their 27-25 loss to the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in the divisional round of the playoffs. The visitors could have forced overtime had tight end Mark Andrews held onto Jackson's game-tying pass on the two-point try in the dying moments of the fourth quarter.

This marked the second straight season where an egregious error in the endzone cost Baltimore its season. In the fourth quarter of last year's AFC championship game against the Kansas City Cheifs, wide receiver Zay Flowers fumbled the ball while trying to extend his hand for a touchdown, leading to a turnover. The Ravens lost the game by seven points.

The fashion in which the Ravens have sabotaged themselves over the past two seasons has prompted doubts about Jackson's and the team's ability to play error-free football in the playoffs and win the Super Bowl. However, fullback Patrick Ricard is confident that the reigning MVP will hoist the Lombardi Trophy soon.

During his exit interview on Monday, he said:

"It's inevitable. [Lamar Jackson]'s going to win a Super Bowl, and I want to be a part of it. It just sucks that it hasn't happened yet. I personally feel bad for him because he deserves it just because of how great of a player he is. He deserves to be considered one of the best quarterbacks.
"He already is, but I know everyone considers championships as the standard, and he'll get it one day."

Lamar Jackson takes blame for the loss vs. Bills

While there was palpable frustration among Ravens fans about Mark Andrews' drop, Lamar Jackson absolved his teammate and took responsibility for the loss. In the postgame press conference, the quarterback claimed his interception and fumble in the first half cost his team a trip to the AFC championship game.

In an expletive-laden rant, he said:

"In the first half, I had two costly turnovers. Not holding the safety. Me just knowing the coverage, me knowing it’s man [coverage], threw a BS interception. Like I’ve been saying all season, every time we’re in a situation like this. Turnovers play a factor. Penalties play a factor.
"Tonight, the turnovers. You can’t have that s***. That’s why we lost the game."

Jackson is expected to be the MVP for the second year running and for the third time in his career. However, he'll have to watch another quarterback hoist the Lombardi Trophy and wait another year to get his shot.
