Former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress is sending advice to NBA star Ja Morant due to the recent allegations surrounding him. The Memphis Grizzlies star allegedly showed himself brandishing a gun on his Instagram stories while at a nightclub in Denver, Colorado.

While he was live on Instagram, Morant showed a gun that he had in his possession while at the club. The Grizzlies were in town to play the Denver Nuggets which leaves the NBA and police with many questions.

Traveling with a firearm is prohibited and although Colorado is an open-carry state, having a gun while intoxicated is prohibited by state law. Morant has been suspended by the NBA while the investigation continues. Police in Colorado have also opened an investigation.

Burress, who had his own experience with a firearm at a nightclub, sent some advice to the NBA star. He said that if even if he doesn't learn anything else, to learn something from the experience and consequences that he faced.

In hopes that the young NBA star will learn from his mistakes and prevent anything like this from happening again, he said:

“If you can't learn anything, learn from me”

While appearing on "The Carton Show," Burress said that Morant needs to learn that everything he has accomplished can all be taken away by one bad decision. He said:

“It can all just be taken away. You can taint whatever your legacy may be…If I was speaking to him, it would just be, if you can’t learn anything man, just learn from me. Just make better decisions because you really don’t want for him to be having that label moving forward being that he’s so young."

He also went on to say that he hopes Ja Morant learns that he will always be labeled by the decisions he makes. No matter how much success he had on the court.
