LeSean McCoy and Joe Burrow shared the NFL in 2020, during Burrow's rookie year and McCoy's last campaign. However, McCoy is aware of the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback's performance in 2024.

As conversation centers around Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson for the MVP award, Burrow lurks as a darkhorse candidate. On Monday's edition of "The Facility," McCoy talked about Burrow's MVP candidacy.

"I love Joe Burrow, the way he's playing," McCoy said. "And I don't want to start doing this thing where we glorify and we praise losing. We all been on teams where we might be a super strong guy doing well, but then when you losing, what are we bragging about?

"Because if the numbers meant that much, if your year was that much as an MVP, then why your team not in the playoffs? We can't praise these guys for having great stats and get an MVP for what? Your stats have to equal to something. I can't give Joe Burrow that."

Burrow and the Bengals are 8-8 and remain alive for the playoffs, but need the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins to lose to make it. The Bengals must also defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

With only one week left in the regular season, both QBs have piled up some of the best single-season stat lines of the 2020s.

Joe Burrow has thrown for 42 touchdowns and eight interceptions while Lamar Jackson has thrown for 39 TDs and four interceptions. Jackson has won 11 games and Burrow has won eight.

If the Bengals lose in Week 18 and Jackson wins against the Cleveland Browns, he will have 50% more wins this year than Burrow.

The question is whether if one plucks either QB, how many wins that team would have. Some may argue that Jackson's ability to win with his arm and his legs cannot be reproduced. However, Burrow's case is that the talent surrounding him, especially on defense, has left him with more on his plate than Jackson.

The AFC North has two of the three top MVP candidates, so in theory, the odds of someone from the division hoisting the trophy are high. Will Jackson, Josh Allen, or Burrow hoist the MVP?
