The battle for NFL MVP is heating up and for the first time in years, a non-quarterback is considered a favorite to win the coveted award. On Sunday morning, rapper Lil Wayne - a diehard Green Bay Packers fan - was an NFL Network guest.

He spoke with Colleen Fox and Gerald McCoy and the topic discussed was NFL MVP for the 2024 NFL season. Wayne was tasked with whom he thought would win the award, and Fox joked that he couldn't choose Packers quarterback Jordan Love. Five-time Grammy Award winner Lil Wayne said that he actually agreed with the consensus that Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley should be named MVP.

"Actually I'd give it to Saquon as well!," Lil Wayne said Sunday on NFL Network

Saquon Barkley - who signed a three-year $37.75 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2024 - is closing in on possibly getting his first 2,000-yard season of his NFL career. The running back has rushed for 1,838 yards and 13 rushing touchdowns in his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles. Barkley also has 31 catches for 276 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

NFL MVP odds as of Week 17

As Week 17 winds down, just one more week of regular season football remains on the 2024 NFL schedule. The race for "Most Valuable Player" couldn't be more competitive at this rate.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has the best odds (-200) to win the NFL MVP award. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (+165) and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Saquon Barkley (+1700) are also high up on the list.

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is continuing to improve his odds of winning the award as he tries to lead his team to the playoffs. DraftKings Sportsbook posted on X (formerly Twitter) that before Saturday's win over the Denver Broncos, the odds were +9000, and after the overtime win, it was +2000.

Burrow and the Bengals have won four straight games and continue to stay in the hunt for the postseason, despite a rough start at the beginning of the season. The Denver Broncos are currently the first team in the hunt for a playoff spot and the Cincinnati Bengals, with an 8-8 record, find themselves right behind.

Joe Burrow has one last game to show what he has to win Most Valuable Player with a divisional matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers next week.
