The Detroit Lions' training camp practices kicked off on Wednesday afternoon, and the Lions head coach, Dan Campbell, didn't leave the conditioning and workouts just to his players. In a move that has been seen in recent years, Campbell took to the field and began doing 'up-downs' with his players.
While his form may not have been perfect, the Lions fanbase certainly got fired up over the viral video of the head coach.
Fans praised Campbell for his actions on X (formerly known as Twitter). Some said it showed he was a 'player's coach,' and others said it was an official sign that football season was back.

Dan Campbell now has a much larger podium for 2024
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell isn't one to hold his emotions back. During a postgame media access, Campbell has been known to perhaps take his frustration out on the podium. The Lions took matters into their own hands to ensure that the 6-foot-5, 265-pound head coach didn't do any damage to the podium.
Campbell arrived on Wednesday for his first media session at the training camp. On the stage waiting for him was a large podium, one that would likely be able to handle a postgame punch or two. Campbell immediately noticed the size difference in his new podium.
"This is a huge podium," Campbell said.
Campbell's size and stature came in handy during his playing days as a tight end in the NFL. In his ten-year career, he played for the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.
