The Detroit Lions are one of the top contenders to win the Super Bowl this season. However, their loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15 was more than just a number in the standings as injuries continued to pile up on both sides of the ball.
On Monday morning, ESPN's NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported defensive lineman Alim McNeill and cornerback Carlton Davis both suffered injuries against the Bills. Running back David Montgomery also suffered an injury, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Lions fans replied to Schefter's post convinced the universe was against Detroit.

The Lions were just one half away from making an appearance in Super Bowl LVIII before the San Francisco 49ers mounted a huge comeback. Fans now fear the hope of getting back to the NFC title game are now gone with the loss of key players.
"Another Lions injury. They are decimated. Playoffs are gonna be disappointing for them."-one fan predicted
"Hate to see it especially when they have a chance."-another suggested
"Ouch, Lions offense going to have to be near-perfect from here on out."-one said of the injury status to the defense
While Detroit has already clinched a spot in the playoffs, the NFC North division is still up for grabs. Detroit is 12-2 but the Minnesota Vikings could also move to 12-2 with a win over the Chicago Bears Monday night. The Vikings do play the Lions in the final game of the regular season. That game could potentially determine the division.

According to Schefter's report, Davis has a broken jaw and will be sidelined indefinitely. McNeil is done for the season with a torn ACL.
Montgomery suffered a torn MCL and is potentially out for the season, although the running back is reportedly exploring his options for treatment.
