Dan Campbell has led his Detroit Lions to a playoff appearance, but he's looking for more. The Lions are now tied with the Vikings at the top of the NFC North division. They lost to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon, ending their 11-game win streak.
On Tuesday morning, Dan Campbell made his weekly radio show appearance on "97.1 The Ticket" and his rant has now gone viral. The Lions head coach compared the 11-game win streak to eating a 'filet' and the loss to the Bills to 'molded bread.' He even dropped some expletives along the way to get his point across.
"You know what happens is, you win 11 in a row, and you lose, and then the sky falls. And I hate to say it, but we're not going to be able to win 11 in a row again for the rest of this season. ... You get used to eating filet, and I'm talking to all of us, and well, everything's good. Life's good, you know. And but you forgot what it was like when you had nothing and you ate your f**king molded bread, you know," Dan Campbell said on the '97.1 The Ticket radio show'
"And it was just fine, and it gave you everything you needed. And sometimes you got to get punched in the mouth, and remember what it used to be like to really appreciate where you are, and we'll do that. I don't give a crap if we got to win by one point for the rest of the year. That's what we're gonna do," he added.

Dan Campbell then added that his team will find a way to win the remainder of the season. Whether they win by just one point doesn't matter to him, as long as they win. The Detroit Lions will face the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon.
Lions HC Dan Campbell said 'nobody cares' about injuries
The Detroit Lions not only suffered their first loss in three months on Sunday, but the team also lost key members of their roster. Running back David Montgomery tore his MCL and will miss the remainder of the season.
On the defensive side of the ball, the situation looks even worse. Cornerback Carlton Davis suffered a broken jaw and will require surgery to repair it, he is expected to be out for the foreseeable future. Fellow cornerback Khalil Dorsey suffered a season-ending ankle injury and defensive lineman Alim McNeill suffered a torn ACL that also ended his 2024 season.
On Monday, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked about the multiple injuries to his team. He said that while his team has lost significant players, nobody in the NFL will show them sympathy. He said that 'nobody cares' if a team doesn't have star players on either side of the ball, a game still has to be played.
"We acknowledge the fact that we've lost players, we've lost really good players, but nobody cares," Campbell told reporters on Monday afternoon. "I mean, nobody cares and nobody's gonna give us a pass or give us an asterisk next to your record."
"So what it means is some guys are gonna have an unbelievable opportunity," he added. "Because of what has happened, that means now, man, you're a guy who's on the vet squad or you're a young player or you're somebody who's been dying to get an opportunity, you're about to get it."
Dan Campbell also stressed that players who haven't seen a lot of playing time will now have an opportunity due to the injuries.
