The Detroit Lions have suffered another blow to their roster, as linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez tore his ACL during Thursday's Thanksgiving win against the Chicago Bears. This is the third (regular) season-ending injury to their front seven after a broken leg for Aidan Hutchinson and a broken arm for Alex Anzalone.
Malcolm's wife, Kennedy Frazer, believes this is a temporary setback. Taking to her Instagram, she wrote:
"The comeback is greater than the setback. Your girls are so proud of you always. You inspire me endlessly and I have no doubt you'll turn this into something amazing. As you always do. We will always be in your corner. I love you!
"Why does this have me in tears, getting to watch someone pour so much into something they love is so special and when they hurt you hurt. We can't wait to continue to root on our Lions family, see you in 2025!"

Lions get Malcolm Rodriguez replacement in one-time Pro Bowler
The Lions have shown they can be very adept at pivoting towards injury replacements. After trading for Za'Darius Smith to fill in for Aidan Hutchinson, they have found someone who can fill the play-stopping void left by Malcolm Rodriguez.
On Friday, veteran Kwon Alexander was announced to have been signed by the NFC leaders from the Denver Broncos' practice squad. A 2015 fourth-round pick out of LSU for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he led the league in solo tackles in 2016 and made a Pro Bowl in 2017.
In 2019, he joined the San Francisco 49ers and started half of their season before tearing his pectoral muscle. He returned in time for the playoffs and reached Super Bowl LIV.
Since then, he has bounced across a few teams, including the Broncos. Sports Illustrated writer Noah Strackbein, who covers the Pittsburgh Steelers, says that Alexander is hungrier than most think:
"When Alexander showed up in Pittsburgh last summer, the expectations were low. But it took no time at all before everyone fell in love with his physical style of play. He's a speedy linebacker, but you can't underestimate his run-stuffing ability. He's got a lot of punch left to his game."
He is expected to make his debut next Thursday against the Green Bay Packers.
