Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling played a huge role in his team's win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The former Green Bay Packers receiver was the Chiefs' leading man on offense. He caught six passes for 116 yards and recorded a touchdown.

Now in the Super Bowl, Valdes-Scantling made a somewhat unorthodox request for the big game. Keep in mind that R&B singer Rihanna is performing at halftime.

The Saint Petersburg, Florida native took to his Twitter account to ask a surprising question. Not many players would be thinking about this, especially if they are preparing for the biggest game of their lives.

He posted:

"Serious question… can I watch Rihanna perform at halftime?"

Now we don't know if the receiver was being serious with this post. We assume that he will have bigger things to worry about than the halftime show. His teammates wouldn't take too kindly to him watching Rihanna, especially if they are losing the game.

But he does bring up an interesting point: Can players watch the halftime show? We may find out if we see MVS peeking out of the locker room to get a glimpse of Rihanna.

The 28-year-old picked the perfect time to have his best game of the season. He stepped up in a big way during the AFC Championship. The Chiefs were dealing with a lot of injuries at the receiver position and needed someone to rise to the occasion. Valdes-Scantling did just that.

Valdes-Scantling eclipsed his season-high numbers when he recorded six catches and 116 receiving yards on Sunday. The closest he came to that performance was against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7. He caught three passes for 111 yards on October 23 as the Chiefs blew out the 49ers by a final score of 44-23.

Heading into his first Super Bowl appearance, the former Packers receiver will be hoping to emulate his efforts in Arizona.

If Mahomes' ankle injury still lingers, he will have to rely heavily on receivers like Valdes-Scantling to win the game.

The Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LVII on February 12. The game will take place at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30pm/ET. Country star Chris Stapleton will sing the national anthem.
