Wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown signed with the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason as a free agent. Looking to make an impact in the Chiefs' wide receiving corps, Brown suffered a sternoclavicular injury in the preseason that has left him sidelined since.

Initially thought to be a 4-6 week recovery, it was reported on Sept. 14 that Brown wasn't expected to return to the field this season following the injury.

On Wednesday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid provided a positive update on Brown's recovery.

“He’s doing great. He seems to be on schedule, or a little bit ahead of schedule. It’s going to be a while, though. He’s a relentless worker. He’s doing very well,” Reid said, via Nate Taylor on X.

NFL reporter James Palmer reported Brown could be back in time for the postseason.

"I'm told there is a real chance Hollywood Brown could return. Which would make KC's it's most complete at the most important time. A run for a third straight Super Bowl," he tweeted.

Brown finished the 2023 season with the Arizona Cardinals recording 51 receptions for 574 yards and four touchdown receptions in 14 games. With the Chiefs suffering multiple injuries at the wide receiver position this season, Brown's return during their playoff run would be huge.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been plagued with injuries this season on offense, especially at the wide receiver position.

Marquise "Hollywood" Brown has been put on injured reserve. Rashee Rice, the leading wide receiver a season ago in yards and touchdowns for the Chiefs, suffered an ACL in Week 4 and is sidelined for the rest of the season.

Heading into their Week 8 game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Chiefs have ruled out wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.

With a big need at wide receiver, the Chiefs pulled off a big trade on Wednesday morning by acquiring Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. All it took was a fifth-round pick who could turn into a fourth-round pick.

Patrick Mahomes and Hopkins could become the next big QB-WR duo. That would make the Chiefs even better after becoming the only unbeaten team in the NFL (6–0).
