Marshon Lattimore took a hard fall in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks and left the field due to an abdomen injury. The New Orleans Saints cornerback was then forced to miss the Week 7 game against the Arizona Cardinals due to the same problem.
The worrying aspect for the Saints is that Lattimore has still not returned to training with the team. The 26-year-old was absent from team training on Wednesday, leaving him questionable for the Week 8 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Marshon Lattimore left the game against the Seahawks in the fourth quarter and didn't return. While speaking to reporters after the game, Saints head coach Dennis Allen provided an update on his cornerback, saying:

"He (Lattimore) had some testing on Sunday night and some more testing on Monday. We won’t go into the specifics of the abdominal injury that he has, but he’s got to be okay. We’ll just have to see how he responds this week in terms of what his availability's going to be.”
However, Lattimore has still not returned to practice for the Saints. He was absent from team training on Wednesday, leaving major doubts about whether he will be fit to play against the Raiders on Sunday.
Marshon Lattimore stats and fantasy outlook
Marshon Lattimore has managed 15 tackles and five assisted tackles in five games for the Saints this season. He has recorded a total of 14.5 fantasy points, which is too low for a player of his caliber.
The corner plays a tremendous role in Dennis Allen's defense. His intangibles and physicality make him a prime player to put on an island and shut down opposing teams' WR1. This allows coach Allen to play around with the rest of his defense to outscheme opposing offenses. Having the likes of Cam Jordan on the defensive line further aids the system.
Since Marshon Lattimore is expected to be ruled out for the Saints' Week 8 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders, you should look at other cornerbacks for your fantasy team. Here are some of the top alternatives you can use for Week 8:
- Darius Slay
- Stephon Gilmore
- Jalen Ramsey
- Trevon Diggs
