Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly calls out ‘insecure men’ after backlash over dating QB's former backup

Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly, has been the talk of the town ever since she shared unknown details about her relationship history. Earlier this month, Kelly Stafford revealed that she dated Matthew's backup quarterback in college to make him feel jealous.

The mother of four received criticism, which led her to apologize to the backup quarterback on Instagram. After she apologized to UGA backup, Kelly hit back at critics for all the controversy she has been battling over her past.

"Realizing how many insecure men there are out there.. so grateful I married the complete opposite. Loved last night," Kelly wrote on her Instagram.

Kelly also attached a picture of her husband, Matthew. In the picture, the NFL couple could be seen having arms around each other as they enjoyed Chris Stapleton's concert at the Hollywood Bowl in California.

As for the apology, Kelly Stafford took to her Instagram story to apologize to Joe Cox, the backup QB that she was linked to while dating Matthew. Apologizing to Joe Cox, Kelly wrote:

"To this beautiful fam..I am sorry for the media storm that happened last week that made its way into your lives."

"You had ZERO involvement in what I spoke about and in fact, it was y'alls relationship in college that I looked up to and wanted for me and Matthew. You were the couple that everyone thinks Matthew and I was.. y'all were the UGA QB and cheerleader that met and never let go. I love y'all," Kelly said.

Earlier this month, the "Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe" podcast released an episode featuring Kelly Stafford. During the podcast, Kelly discussed her relationship history with Matthew, including a time when she dated her backup quarterback.

"At first, I hated him. I loved him. I dated the backup to piss him off, which worked. He was the bad boy too, like Matthew's so sweet and Southern gentleman and all that stuff, and the backup was the complete opposite. It upset him, which it worked, thankfully," Kelly said.

According to Kelly, during the early dating phase with Matthew, he was looking for a casual relationship, but she wanted otherwise. Thus, in the podcast, she expressed how dating Matthew's backup QB worked at making Matthew's casual relationship turn into a serious one.
