Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly opens about ongoing battle with major health setback

While Matthew Stafford prepares for the upcoming NFL Playoffs' Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings, his wife Kelly has been battling with a major health condition. The podcaster has been suffering from flu and recently revealed being "bedridden" due to the same.

On Tuesday, Kelly Stafford took to her Instagram story to reveal how her health has worsened due to the flu. In the brief message that Kelly shared, she also explained how it's' not just her but also her daughters who have found themselves suffering from the same condition. Talking about the same, she said:

"I wish iMessages had a custom auto response, but instead here you go: I have been bedridden for over 36 hours with this flu. I have 3 girls who are also battling the same. My energy is too low to think/organize/care for anyone but my kids and I."

"If you have been trying to get a hold of me about the playoff game and are getting no response, it will remain the way until I am able to function," Kelly concluded.

Before making her statement on Instagram, Kelly Stafford talked about her health in Tuesday's episode of "The Morning After" podcast. Revealing how she “passed out” in the VIP suites during Rams vs Seahawks, Kelly said:

"I can't think straight. I currently believe I have the flu. Two of my daughters have the flu, and I wasn't able to move yesterday at the game. I passed out on a little bench in the suite.

"We had like all of our friends in town and I was a real downer. But turns out, I had a pediatrician come over, and, Chandler has the flu, which makes me think Tyler had the flu and still has it. And that's what I have. Body aches are serious," Kelly added. (0:17)

With less than a week left to Rams vs Vikings, Kelly Stafford would want Matthew to be in good health. That's why the podcaster revealed her plans to distance herself and her kids from the Rams quarterback until their health condition improves.

Talking about the same during "The Morning After" podcast on Tuesday, Kelly said:

"He won't come close to me, which I completely understand. That might also be a thing this week leading up to this playoff game. Well, if all my kids have the flu, I don't think we should be in this house with him. So it would be us moving, and I know everyone's like, 'Why would y'all move? There's five of you and one of him.'"

"Because all of his work stuff and his film room and everything is here, so um, we would just get out of here, yeah, and I think that is on the table right now. I mean, we have 105 fevers going around this house right now, and we can't have Matthew without going into the playoffs. So we're going to do our best to not let him get that," Kelly concluded.
