Matthew Stafford's family was among the many residents who evacuated from their houses due to wildfire in Los Angeles. The emergency evacuation was a traumatic experience for Kelly Stafford, who recalled the same during the latest episode of her podcast.
In Thursday's episode of "The Morning After" podcast, Kelly Stafford opened up about how she came across the emergency evaluation news. Recalling how she was shaken awake by multiple texts from her neighbors, Kelly said:
"I start getting these texts and it wakes me up and I'm like 'what's going on'. And all I'm seeing is 'get out now. get out now.' I had packed our stuff like our documents, photographs, things that matter in my car already. There was a few things that needed to done."

"Matthew was at work and so I'm in communications with someone in the neighborhood who's helping me grab some things. But you know your stomach drops. And then LAPD is knocking on doors telling people to get out now. So you know as I'm sitting here with my kids thinking God that we're out, I'm getting these texts from my neighbors. It's like a moment of just like hysteria," Kelly added
Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly revealed battling 'guilt' for taking kids to Rams vs Vikings
Moving forward in the podcast, Kelly Stafford opened up about her experience taking her daughters to the Los Angeles Rams' Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings. Kelly expressed how she battled with "guilt" of taking kids to the game despite them suffering from flu. Talking about how Matthew helped her battle the guilt, Kelly said:
"We were sick on that flight. There was a huge guilt factor to me going, ‘Should we be on this plane right now because of everyone surrounding us and everyone who has to play this game?’ They were like, ‘Get your ass on that plane. We all need to be together.'"
"That was such an incredible thing for me to hear because there was a little bit of like, ‘Should I just stay back with my children?’ Matthew was like, ’No, we will do whatever it takes. We are all getting on this plane. We are going to be together right now," Kelly concluded.
During the Rams vs Vikings, Kelly Stafford paid a special tribute to the LA fire department with her outfit. Speaking on the LA wildfire, Kelly later got emotional while clearing her feelings about the first responders.
The podcaster expressed how she feels the first responders don't receive enough credit. Talking about the same during Tuesday's episode of her "The Morning After" podcast, Kelly said:
"I just pray for the safety of these individuals and for God to come in the hearts of their families and protect them. We don't thank our First Responders enough ever."
The Arizona Cardinals helped the Rams players and their families to evacuate from Los Angeles. Impressed with the team's effort, Kelly Stafford penned down a message, thanking the team for their contributions.
