Maxx Crosby is one of the best defensive players in the league today, known for being a master of the tackle for loss, of which he managed 17, in addition to 7.5 sacks and 20 quarterback hits, before being shut down for the 2024 season with a foot injury. Amidst his Las Vegas Raiders' downward spiral, there has been speculation about his future.
On Sunday, he tweeted in support of the divisional rival and defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, leading fans to think he was going to request a trade.
On Tuesday, he further exacerbated the notion when speaking on his podcast "The Rush," listing a number of potential on-field reasons why he would want to leave:
"Years of inconsistency. New coaches every other year. New teammates. And there's been plenty of times where I'm like, "damn, like, this D line is cold," and then I come back and every single one of them is gone. It's like, 'What the f**k?'"

He continued by discussing his contract situation - another potential reason:
"I have no more guaranteed money. Obviously there's gonna be lot of things that need to be talked about, and I'm looking forward to those conversations. I'm really looking forward to this off season and the process."
Maxx Crosby reacts to meeting former Raiders teammates for first time since split
Speaking of departures, there are at least two former teammates whom Maxx Crosby still misses very much: Derek Carr and Josh Jacobs. After those two met on the field following the Green Bay Packers' shutout of the New Orleans Saints on Monday (second item in the slideshow below), he commented on the Instagram joint post of the moment by ESPN and the NFL:
"My Dogs"
Carr, the former Raiders quarterback, was released in the 2023 offseason after refusing to waive the no-trade clause in his contract. He joined the Saints for four years and $150 million; but while he was decent enough to lead the team to a near-playoff berth in his debut campaign, he completely unraveled in Year 2 before breaking his hand.
Jacobs, meanwhile, managed to remain for 2023 after a contract dispute. However, he drastically fell off from the career-hight he had set the year prior, and he eventually joined the Packers in the offseason.
