NFL defensive end Maxx Crosby recently said that the air around the Las Vegas Raiders’ headquarters feels heavier than usual. Speaking on Good Morning Football, Crosby didn’t shy away from addressing the uncertainty after leadership changes in the team.
“It’s very eerie around there, I would say,” Crosby admitted.
With interim head coach, Antonio Pierce and GM Dave Ziegler recently shown the door, the Raiders, under part-owner Tom Brady are searching for a new leadership.
Crosby, who is going through his recovery process, also pointed out how unpredictable life in the NFL can be.

“I’m just focused on the day to day. Lot of things are out of my control,” he added.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ 2024 season has been tough. Things got worse when Maxx Crosby suffered a serious ankle injury in Week 14 against Tampa Bay, which ended his season. The injury is a Grade 3 sprain that needed surgery. It is rare for Crosby, who has missed just one game in his entire career before this season.
That said, even with the Raiders struggling at 2-11 and out of playoff contention, Maxx Crosby has been a standout. He recorded 45 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, and 7.5 sacks.
A new leadership team is now expected next season for the Las Vegas Raiders. However, they also have to decide if Crosby will stay for their defense or if he could be traded as part of their rebuilding plans.
Tom Brady is quietly reshaping Maxx Crosby's team's future: Reports
Part-owner Tom Brady is helping in the Las Vegas Raiders' search for a new head coach and GM, as per The Athletic. This comes after owner Mark Davis fired Antonio Pierce and Tom Telesco last week.
Interestingly, the seven-time Super Bowl champion is drawing top candidates like Detroit Lions OC, Ben Johnson, and DC, Aaron Glenn. Both of them recently interviewed for the coaching job. Johnson’s interest, in particular, seems tied to Brady’s influence.
Not everyone is excited, though. For example, Maxx Crosby said how he is going to "sit back and wait and see what happens." Some GM candidates are worried about how much control Brady might have in making decisions.
For the first time, Davis is using a professional search firm to help find the right people. The pressure is on, as the team has only had two winning seasons since 2011.
Behind the scenes, Brady has been active. He even contacted former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, as reported by the New York Times. While NFL rules limit Brady to an advisory role due to his broadcasting commitments, his influence is undeniable.
Interviews for playoff-bound candidates can’t start until Jan. 20, but veteran names like Pete Carroll and Robert Saleh are already in the mix. Carroll is set to meet with the Raiders this week.
