As the Miami Dolphins prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16, Dolphins fans did not hesitate to vent their frustration with the team's general manager, Chris Grier.

It all started with the tweet of the co-host of "The Dive Bar Podcast" Joe Robbie. The tweet, which went viral, featured a banner being towed across the sky with the message:

“MR ROSS, THIS IS GRIER'S FAULT! PLEASE FIX IT.”

The tweet clearly shows that Dolphins fans demanded accountability from owner Stephen Ross. Does the GM deserve another season to turn around the team?

As the social media post gained attention, NFL fans weighed in with their opinions.

More Dolphins fans joined in the chorus.

"A hero we don't deserve. Fire Grier," one fan tweeted.
"Whoever paid for it is a national hero we need," another tweeted.
"No way that's real," a fan tweeted.

Grier has been the team’s general manager since 2016. However, his tenure was completely marred by inconsistent results.

The last time the Miami Dolphins won a playoff game was in 2000.

Despite a rebuild in 2019, the team couldn't achieve the desired results. Thus, many fans questioned whether the franchise’s foundation was built on shaky ground.

Furthermore, because the 2024 season is spiraling out of control, Grier is under pressure.

3 key indicators will likely determine whether Miami Dolphins' GM Chris Grier remains in charge for the 2025 NFL season

Firstly, it is free agency, which could offer a glimpse into his status.

Chris Grier has been overcautious with his spending. However, he could shift if he feels his job is on the line. More high-priced and short-term signings could be a possibility for improvement.

The second sign to watch out for is whether Grier trades away future draft picks. In the past, he’s been reluctant to part with draft capital. But in the coming off-season, if he’s willing to make more moves like the Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb trades, it would mean that his focus is on a win-now strategy.

Lastly, Grier’s relationship with the Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel could also play an important role.
