The Dallas Cowboys are now officially one of three teams that still do not have a head coach, alongside the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. While they have been interviewing candidates, the mood around the Cowboys fanbase has been grim with speculation of Deion Sanders taking the job dying down.
Criticism has also been levelled at Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones for failing to bring former Detroit Lions OC Ben Johnson and his colleague Aaron Glenn in for an interview. Johnson was strongly linked with both the Chicago Bears and the Raiders before Chicago moved quickly to name him the 18th head coach in franchise history.
As footage emerged of Johnson's first day in the office, Micah Parsons' brother Terrence Parsons Jr. took note of how Johnson conducted himself.
"Sounds like a f**kin head coach who knows exactly what he needs to do. And he knew Dallas was never the place he could do it at lol," Parsons Jr. tweeted on Wednesday.

The Cowboys did not request an interview with Ben Johnson in the first round, given the timing of firing Mike McCarthy, a decision they took a week after Black Monday. Had the Cowboys fired McCarthy a week earlier, they would have had a window to virtually interview Johnson and Glenn.
Dallas Cowboys coaching rumors: New frontrunner emerges
Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was leading the race to be named as the next Cowboys head coach, having virtually interviewed with the franchise last week. Moore, of course, has a history with the franchise, having served as a backup QB and as their OC in 2022. Dallas has also interviewed former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh and former Seattle Seahawks assistant head coach Leslie Frazer.
However, the frontrunner this week is Dallas's very own offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
Schottenheimer had a follow-up interview with the franchise on Wednesday after a first round that lasted nearly four hours.
Meanwhile, they are yet to request an official interview with Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders. Jones reached out to the two-time Super Bowl winner soon after firing Mike McCarthy but there has been no movement on that front since that call.
