Chronically online Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey had been on a social media hiatus for the past three months. The 28-year-old hadn't been active on X since October 12 before ending his exile exactly three months later with a post thanking the Ravens fans for their support in their win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the team's playoff opener.
Following Baltimore's season-ending loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, Humphrey, who now has plenty of free time on his hands, has been posting unrelentingly over the past two days. He seemingly saw all the mean posts taking aim at him and his teammates as he posted:
"I really forgot how toxic this app is… I love it here."

New York Giants offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor tried to use social media to do some recruiting for his team. He asked the Ravens cornerback whether he was interested in moving to New York.
While Humphrey didn't respond, the Giants star got one on the Ravens star's behalf from Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, who poked fun at New York's quarterback conundrum. He shared Eleumunor's post and replied:
"You really pitching to someone who has Lamar [Jackson]?!"
Marlon Humphrey contract: Will CB be a trade target for teams?
Marlon Humphrey has two years left on the massive five-year, $97.5 million contract extension he signed with the franchise in 2020. The two-time All-Pro is among the finest cornerbacks in the league, and the Ravens likely wouldn't entertain the possibility of trading him.
However, his contract carries a $48 million dead cap hit over the next two seasons. Baltimore will enter the offseason with only $6 million in cap space, which the front office likely believes isn't enough to add players who could help improve the roster.
Humphrey and the Ravens could restructure his deal to spread out the cap hit. However, the team could be enticed into trading him for a high draft pick that would not only add nearly $16 million in cap space but also help them replace him with a young prospect.
As things stand, Baltimore hasn't indicated that it is looking to move on from the cornerback, nor has the four-time Pro Bowler suggested that he wants to leave the team. However, things can change quickly if a team coughs up a draft pick or two for the veteran.
