Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons was under fire as he responded to the news of WNBA star Brittney Griner returning home from her Russian prison sentence this morning.
Griner was arrested and held in Russia as she was charged with smuggling a banned substance into Russia. Today, it was announced she would be returning home to the US following a prisoner swap in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.
There were many different opinions following the news. Parsons responded to the news by saying we left a marine while finding out we traded for Griner's freedom.

Parsons Tweeted:
"Wait nah!! We left a marine?!! Hell nah."
After receiving some backlash from fans and Twitter followers, Parsons issued an apology to Griner and the situation.
He tweeted:
"My last tweet was no shot at Brittney Griner. I’m super happy she’s back home as she should be. I just have family who have served and it’s crazy to me the President wouldn’t bring him home too. I’m the furthest thing from a Trump supporter but I’m not a fan of Biden either."
Parsons added another apology Tweet right after:
"Just spoke to some people that I respect and trust. I should have been more educated on the topic and not tweeted out of emotion for my family and other who have served. For that I apologize. Also if what I’m told about the attempts to bring Ret Marine Paul Whelan home are true."
NFL fans had a field day by trashing Parsons for feeding into the "woke mob."
