On the field, Tom Brady is unquestionably more accomplished and more successful than "the Sheriff" Peyton Manning. Brady has won seven Super Bowls and was adjudged the game's MVP three times. Manning, on the other hand, has won only two Super Bowls but has been crowned the game's MVP five times.
However, in the world of sports broadcasting, Manning already has the edge over Brady. On Monday night, the former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos quarterback won the Sports Emmy for Outstanding Personality/Sports Event Analyst. He received the award for the ManningCast, the Monday Night Football alternate commentary feed he co-hosts with his younger brother, former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.
And writing for NBC's Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio gave this hot take:
The competition will continue, indefinitely into the future. Here’s one thing that can be taken to the bank. The fact that Peyton has won an Emmy will make Brady even more determined to get one of his own, ASAP.

Which other former NFL players won at the 2023 Sports Emmys?
Manning was not the only NFL retiree to collect a trophy at the Sports Emmys. Eli was also nominated for Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent for the ManningCast, but lost to former tight end Greg Olsen, who received the award for his stellar first year as Fox's lead NFL analyst.
Former safety Ryan Clark was also honored at the ceremony, winning Outstanding Personality/Studio Analyst for his work on ESPN's NFL desk.
Where else has Tom Brady beaten Peyton Manning? A look at 15-time Pro Bowler's latest venture
As Florio noted, however, Brady has beaten Manning in another category: ownership of a sports team.
Also on Monday, the Las Vegas Raiders announced that the former Patriots and Buccaneers QB had "come to an agreement" to join their ownership group, pending a league vote.
Primary owner Mark Davis told ESPN via phone call at the ongoing spring meeting:
"We're excited for Tom to join the Raiders, and it's exciting because he will be just the third player in the history of the National Football League to become an owner."
Brady, who previously expressed interest in joining the Miami Dolphins' ownership group before their tampering scandal, also has an impending 10-year, $375 million deal to be Fox's lead NFL analyst beginning in 2024. His ownership of the Raiders is not expected to affect his broadcasting duties.
