Mike McCarthy has been under fire from fans and analysts alike. But what he didn't see coming his way was friendly fire. However, that's exactly what Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parsons did.

Parsons was asked what he would tell people who were doubtful if McCarthy would remain the Cowboys' HC in 2025. Rather than shut down all doubts in his coach's abilities and stand firmly behind him, Parsons did not exactly do that.

"Mike can leave and go wherever he wants," Parsons said.

He said that he felt "sympathy" and "hurt" for his teammates like Zack Martin for whom this year might be their last, and they would have to walk away from the NFL without ever having lifted the Lombardi Trophy.

McCarthy, during his latest presser on Monday, addressed Parsons' comments and cleared the air regarding doubts that he might have lost the locker room after the Cowboys' 3-6 performance so far in the season.

"Micah and I had a conversation about it and handled those things as men should handle it. That wasn't his intent. I don't want to see any of my players get attacked."

McCarthy said that he had discussed it with his LB and there was no bad blood between them. As for Parsons taking a jab at McCarthy and his coaching, he said that that was not Parsons' intention at all.

In fact, as soon as his comments blew up on social media, Parsons himself had come forward to explain what he had said and do damage control.

Mike McCarthy frustrated after Cowboys' blowout loss against the Eagles

It's not just Micah Parsons who is frustrated at the Cowboys' performance this season. The team is in dire straits with their QB, Dak Prescott, for whom they shelled out enough money to make him the highest-paid player in the league's history. He is now set to miss the remainder of the season.

With backup QB Cooper Rush at the helm, the team is not doing any better. The head coach himself pointed out the team's flaws and what went wrong during the Eagles game.

"I'm not going to sugarcoat this, you can’t win not taking care of the damn ball. Five turnovers, it’s just unacceptable," he said.

He even said that he sided with the fans and that they were right in being mad at the team for messing up the season so far despite Jerry Jones' claims that he was "all in" this year.

Can the team turn around their season or should Dallas fans write this season off and hope they do better next year?
