Mike Vrabel's' hire gets seal of approval from Pats Nation - "Make the Patriots great again" 

The New England Patriots finally have their man. After a not-so-thorough search mired with accusations of sham interviews to satisfy the Rooney Rule, the Patriots moved quickly to name Mike Vrabel as their new head coach.

Billionaire franchise owner Robert Kraft's decision to hire Vrabel comes exactly a week after they decided to fire Jerod Mayo, who was eventually one-and-done as head coach of the franchise. Vrabel, a man who was named to the club's Ring of Honor in 2023, will now return to the franchise where he won three Super Bowls as a player.

Patriots fans welcomed Vrabel back with open arms on social media with the majority of the fanbase optimistic that this hire will work out much better than the last one. Here's what Pats Nation had to say on social media platform X:

"Congrats to coach man!! One of the best in the NFL watch how quick Patriots get back to the playoffs/flip side watch how long it takes Titans to get back to playoffs," one fan wrote.

"Great hire. Should've been the hire last year," another opined.

"Bring Josh McDaniel back as offensive coordinator," a third wrote.

Interestingly, the Patriots will have to take on the Titans in Tennessee as part of their 2025 schedule, affording Vrabel a chance to return to face his former team.

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and Vrabel were seen as the only two options the Patriots would consider as their next head coach. With Vrabel's hire all but done, that leaves Johnson with a couple of options, should he decide to take the plunge and become a head coach next season.

Tom Brady's Las Vegas Raiders have been strongly linked with hiring Johnson. Given the fact they don't have a GM or a quarterback, Johnson could potentially mould the Raiders in his image if he chooses to take the job.

The Chicago Bears are another destination Johnson has been strongly linked with over the last couple of weeks. The Bears have already interviewed Johnson [albeit virtually] and also interviewed his colleague Aaron Glenn and former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.
