After finishing 11-6 last season and making it to the playoffs, the Cleveland Browns felt that the 2024 season could be the one in which they finally embark on a deep playoff run and end the franchise's wait for a Super Bowl win. However, it has been quite the opposite. They are 3-10, out of playoff contention, and back to square one.
While the top brass will wait until the offseason to analyze the season and determine where it went wrong, superstar Myles Garrett has given them a vague idea of where to start.
In an interview with Cleveland.com, the defensive end claimed a serious disconnect between management, coaches, and the players.
“As far as team-wise, no, I don’t think we’ve been on the same pages," Garrett said. "So that’s probably been a majority of the dysfunction that we’ve seen on the field. Organizationally, I mean, the goals have aligned all season. Just the play and execution has not."

Will Myles Garrett leave the Browns in 2025?
While the Browns have been disappointing all season, Myles Garrett has continued to shine. The veteran has been a force to be reckoned with on the field. He has 11 sacks this season, which ranks second in the league behind Cincinnati Bengals's Trey Hendrickson, who has 12.5.
Given his status as one of the league's best and most dominant defensive players, many have suggested that Garrett should demand a trade away from the Browns, who are seemingly constantly rebuilding or not living up to expectations. Several contenders would pounce at the opportunity to land the defensive end.
However, he has no plans to force a move out of Cleveland.
"I think the right pieces are in place, that’ll always give me confidence. So long as that’s looking how it is, I want to be here and I’ll be happy to play with Cleveland," Garrett said when asked about his future. "So we all got to be headed in the right direction, we’ve all got to be on the same page, and until then, I’ll be here happily playing for the team that drafted me.”
For now, Myles Garrett is committed to playing for the Browns and trying to win the Super Bowl with the team that drafted him. However, his contract expires at the end of the 2026 season.
If the team does not improve next season, it will likely need to trade Garrett to avoid losing him for nothing, as he is unlikely to agree to an extension with them.
