Fourth-year running back Najee Harris of the Pittsburgh Steelers has been a workhorse since entering the league in 2021, and the same seems to be the case this season.

Through the Steelers' first three games, Harris is sixth in the league in carries (55) and 12th in rushing yards (209) while splitting the backfield with Jaylen Warren.

So far in each of his first three seasons in the league, Harris has rushed for at least 1,000 yards and seven plus touchdowns. While he has yet to miss a game in his career, the Steelers will be hopeful that Harris can replicate his availability this season as well.

In Sunday's 20-10 win against the Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris got a little banged up.

Though he didn't leave the game, Harris was spotted with a sling on his right arm on Monday. A day later, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz gave an update on Harris' status and said that Harris is expected to be fine and should be good to play Sunday vs. the Indianapolis Colts.

Schultz tweeted Tuesday morning:

"Sources: #Steelers RB Najee Harris, who was seen in the locker room with a sling on his right arm on Monday, is expected to be fine and is likely to be ready for Sunday’s game vs the #Colts. There doesn’t seem to be any concern."

Like most teams in the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers have a split backfield between Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren. Harris is the feature back, who takes on a bulk of the work, and is best used for short-yardage and inside runs.

Warren is a more explosive break who has a breakaway speed.

This season, Harris has played 108 snaps on offense to Warren's 76. That's a fairly balanced use between the two.

Harris' stats this season are 55 carries for 209 yards and seven receptions for 30 yards. Warren's stats for this season are 14 carries for 54 yards and five receptions for 28 yards.

As the season goes on, the two will continue to share the backfield. Neither of the two has shown a good reason to be a primary back, as they've both been held without a touchdown through the first three games of the season.
