Did Tom Brady pass the torch to Patrick Mahomes this year when he retired? Many believe Mahomes could reach Brady's GOAT status and could also surpass him on the all-time list.

Former NFL wide receiver and current sports analyst Nate Burleson was asked how he thinks Brady would do as a sports commentator and how he feels about Brady finally retiring.

Burleson said:

"It's about time! He's been kicking everybody's butt for a long time. Now, he can go home and relax and hang out with his family and let the other quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes win some Super Bowls."

"Patrick Mahomes again. I think he's going to dominate just like Tom Brady did."

At age 27, Mahomes has won two league MVPs and two Super Bowls and has thrown for 24,241 yards, 192 touchdowns and 49 interceptions.

Brady has thrown for 8,035 yards, 123 touchdowns and 66 interceptions while winning three Super Bowls and two MVPs.

He inked a massive ten-year $375 million deal with Fox Sports to become a color commentator once he decided to join the network. He will take time off this year and join the desk in the Fall of 2024.

Brady said:

"It's going to be a great opportunity for me to take some time and really become [good] at my Fox broadcasting job, which I'm really looking forward to, but also catching up on other parts of my life that need some time and energy."

Brady added:

"I have appreciation for so many people that are so committed every day to showing up, to put their max effort into their life and career," he continued. "For me, I want to be great at what I do — talking, even last week, with the people at Fox Sports and the leadership there allowing me to start my Fox opportunity in 2024, is something that's great for me."

Brady will likely hop into the booth and become a natural at it. He has been great at just about everything he has put his mind to, and he has been around the game of football almost his entire life.
