CJ Stroud has grabbed the NFL by the horns and thus far in his second year, he has lived to tell the tale. Caleb Williams is hoping to duplicate the precedent set by Stroud. Speaking about the upcoming primetime matchup between the two quarterbacks, NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky compared Stroud to golf legend Tiger Woods. Here's his analysis on Thursday's edition of the "Get Up" podcast.
"It's the Tiger Woods thing from back in the day. If you stand on the tee box and try to hit it as far as him, you're gonna ruin your game. So I think you don't want Caleb to sit there and go, 'I got to go blow for blow versus CJ, Stroud.' You're not there yet, and that's okay," he said. (4:30)
In other words, Orlovsky appeared to believe that if Williams attempts to throw the ball all over the park, he will have interceptions all over the park. Williams might get there eventually, but he isn't ready to become Patrick Mahomes-esque just yet.

CJ Stroud faces must-win pressure ahead of throwdown against rookie quarterback
At this point, following the seemingly unlikely comeback against Will Levis and the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, Williams has recaptured at least some hope going into this week's game. Next up, Williams will face Stroud in primetime on Sunday. For Williams, a win would provide a serious boost to his confidence.
However, for Stroud, a loss to a quarterback in his second start might edge on disastrous. Of course, Williams is one of the most-hyped prospects of the last five years. That said, for a team as star-studded as the Texans, losing on a stage like this may lead to some soul-searching.
If the Bears lose, it is just another rookie quarterback taking his lumps as he learns the game. However, if the Houston Texans lose, it could put the team on red alert, despite a strong showing in Week 1.
Both teams head into the primetime matchup at 1-0, but in all likelihood, only one team will leave undefeated. Will CJ Stroud defend his status as the new young quarterback to watch?
The game between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans will take place on Sunday, September 12 at 8:20 PM EDT.
