Malik Nabers and Daniel Jones have a lot of pressure on their shoulders to develop into a premium duo. However, if it doesn't work out, the Giants have another quality quarterback to turn to, according to one NFL analyst.

Speaking on an August 8 edition of "Good Morning Football," NFL analyst Peter Schrager hyped up former Broncos and Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock.

"Drew Lock, this is a guy that I think he'll be in the NFL for 15 years," Peter Schrager said. [00:00:43]
"I think Drew Lock is one of those dudes that I will always root for. And don't be shocked if at some point -- I'm not saying Daniel Jones is gonna have a bad season but at some point the Giants are gonna have to look to Drew Lock to get a big win this year, and Drew Lock will get the job done," Schrager added. Following the viral riot at the Detroit Lions and Giants joint practices this week, some fans hoped to see whether another brawl could break out in this week's preseason game. For that to happen, one would logically need to see Jones and Nabers on the field.

However, it appears neither player will be available for the upcoming throwdown later today, according to Sportscenter via reporter Jordan Ranaan and Yahoo Sports.

The Giants opted to dodge the injury risk entirely, even if it means risking a bit more rust at the start of the 2024 regular season. Of course, there are still two preseason games to be played, so there will be more opportunities to watch the duo take their first steps on television.
