NFL analyst slams Jalen Hurts while comparing against Matthew Stafford heading into divisional round: "He's been a pedestrian passer"

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will host Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams this weekend in the NFC Divisional Round. On Wednesday's episode of FOX Sports' "Breakfast Ball," co-host Danny Parkins spoke about the differences in quarterbacks in this round's matchups.

Parkins compared Stafford's success in the playoffs and a Super Bowl win with the Rams to Hurts playoff resume.

"I think that's probably safe to say, but it's really close in terms of the big gap between Stafford is much better than Jalen Hurts," Parkins said.

"So you're telling me, I get Matt Stafford, who has been dominant in the playoffs since he's been with Sean McVay, and against Jalen Hurts, who has been his best playoff game that we've ever seen him play, was a loss, was the lost in Mahomes in the Super Bowl, and the rest of his wins, he's been pretty pedestrian as a passer."

Matthew Stafford led the Rams to a dominant win over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night. Meanwhile, the Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and coach Nick Sirianni were said to have a disconnect last season. In 2023, the Eagles lost the NFC East division lead midseason and were then eliminated in the wild-card round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Philadelphia rebounded this season, winning the division title and advancing past the wild-card round.

ESPN's Tim McManus reported that sources have told him that their relationship has gotten better and that it is because the two have communicated with each other better.

"Once you learn a person, you learn how to deal with that person," McManus wrote about Sirianni's relationship with the players.

In 15 games this season, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has thrown for 2,903 passing yards and 18 touchdowns while rushing for 630 yards and 14 touchdowns.
