One of the best tight ends in this upcoming draft, Penn State's Tyler Warren, has announced his plans to declare for the 2025 NFL draft.
Warren announced yesterday on his Instagram that he would leave Penn State for the big leagues. Many mock drafts and analysts have Warren ranked as a top tight end prospect in this upcoming draft, with some saying he could be the best tight end to come out of this year's draft.
Top-talent tight ends are sometimes tough to predict (Kyle Pitts), while others seem more of a lock (Brock Bowers) earlier on in their careers. Upon hearing the news of Warren declaring for the NFL draft, ESPN NFL draft expert Field Yates thinks teams shouldn't overthink Warren's talent, showing support that he is one of the best talents at tight end this season.
"One of the things we do in the pre-draft cycle is start to overthink players. We overanalyze things that don't matter as much as the tape and the player. Don't waste any time with that on Tyler Warren: this guy is a flat out baller with elite tape from 2024," Yates wrote on X.

Here is Warren's announcement that he would declare for the NFL draft:
"Penn State gave me the opportunity to compete, learn and be surrounded by outstanding men and women who have had such a large impact on my life. To my teammates, I'm thankful for every practice, workout and game I stood alongside you all. To the fans and Penn State community, thank you for your support, I will always be proud to be a Nittany Lion."
The top tight end draft prospects aside from Tyler Warren
The 2025 NFL draft will take place this April 24-26 at Lambeau Field. There will be 256 draft picks over seven rounds (not including compensatory picks). Here are some of the other top tight end prospects aside from Tyler Warren:
-Michigan tight end Colston Loveland
Loveland had 56 catches for 582 yards and five touchdowns this season. He's noted as being an athletic, natural pass-catcher and runs crisp, explosive routes.
-LSU tight end Mason Tyler
Tyler had 55 receptions for 546 yards and two touchdowns this season. He's noted as a tight end who has a good frame to play inside the line or as a slot-wide receiver.
-Texas tight end Gunnar Helm
Helm had 55 catches for 688 yards and six touchdowns in 2024. Texas is set to lose another skilled player in this year's draft, as Helm could be selected in the earlier rounds. He's viewed as a balanced tight end.
