Fans don't understand Denver players protecting Russell Wilson.

The Russell Wilson/Denver Broncos situation has not played out at all how many envisioned it. After signing Wilson from Seattle, along with getting Nathaniel Hackett from the Green Bay Packers, many thought a Super Bowl was in the cards.

But after a horror season that has seen sidelines shouting matches with players and even with Wilson as players vented their frustration at what was taking place, along with rumors of unrest among the locker room due to Wilson's ego, it's all a perfect storm.

That is why, when a player comments in support of Wilson, NFL fans' ears prick up, and that's exactly what receiver Jerry Jeudy has done, and it has left fans baffled. One fan has questioned if the franchise has hit rock bottom.

"Is this rock bottom for a franchise? Cause it feels like it."

Other NFL fans took to Twitter to give their two cents on the horrible situation the franchise finds itself in at the moment.

It is clear that many fans aren't exactly sure what is going on with the franchise as it battles to try and stay afloat amid a torrid season.

Wilson and Broncos have had a horror 2022 season

Super Bowl-bound. That was what many of us thought when Denver signed Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks. That hasn't happened. Sitting at 4-11, rock bottom of the AFC West and having just fired its head coach, Denver is in shambles right now.

Wilson has been bad, to say the least, this season. While there was time given to adjust to a new team, offensive and scheme, the veteran has been all kinds of bad.

He currently has the worst completion percentage of his career (60.1 percent), is easily going to have his lowest touchdown total (currently just 12, the previous lowest was 21) and at the time of writing, he still needs 94 passing yards to avoid having his lowest passing yards total of his career, too.

With rumors of player unrest due to the veteran's perks such as a private office and thinking he is better than them, it has all come crashing down, and many aren't sure if it can be built up again.

But one thing is for certain, the Broncos must get the right head coach in order to fix the mess that is currently the Denver organization.
